As part of the Biden administration’s Summit for Democracy initiative, the Stanford Global Digital Policy Incubator, IE University, and the U.S. State Department will jointly host the Silicon Valley Venture Day on November 29, 2022 at Stanford University. Areas of innovation for democracy affirming technologies include: data for policymaking, responsible AI and machine learning, fighting misinformation, and advancing government transparency and accessibility of government data and services. Silicon Valley Venture Day is part of the Tech4Democracy Global Entrepreneurship Challenge.
The Global Entrepreneurship Challenge is an IE University initiative comprised of five regional venture day competitions taking place in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, and South America. The venture day competitions will bring together researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors to build upon and contribute to the global effort to advance technology for democracy. Regional winners will then compete for a monetary prize in a final global competition.
