At the first Summit for Democracy in December 2021, USAID announced a bold suite of programs under the umbrella of the Presidential Initiative for Democratic Renewal to meet the significant and evolving challenge of corruption and transform the fight against it. Over the Year of Action, the Countering Transnational Corruption Grand Challenge for Development (CTC Grand Challenge) continues to leverage innovation and collaboration to prevent corrupt actors from siphoning off critical resources that should be used for the public good. The Powering a Just Energy Transition Green Minerals Challenge (JET Minerals Challenge), the CTC Grand Challenge’s first activity, is sourcing solutions that counter corruption and strengthen transparency, accountability, and integrity in the global rush to meet the unprecedented demand for green minerals.

As we approach the second Summit for Democracy, USAID, along with JET Minerals Challenge partners Amazon, BHP Foundation, and the Chandler Foundation, is pleased to host a virtual event: Powering a Just Energy Transition Green Minerals Challenge: Harnessing Innovation and Partnership to Counter Transnational Corruption in Green Mineral Supply Chains. Join us on Monday, March 27th from 9:00 AM to 10:15 AM ET as we announce and recognize the JET Minerals Challenge semi-finalist innovators in an interactive discussion with partners, highlighting how solutions funded through the JET Minerals Challenge will create impact and inspire change. We will also preview our areas of focus beyond the JET Minerals Challenge in 2023.

The event will be hosted virtually via Zoom with closed captions.
