Media Freedom Cohort Launch

A December 15 event will mark the official launch of the Media Freedom Cohort, led by the Governments of Canada and the Netherlands, and facilitated by international media development organization Internews. The Media Freedom Cohort has focused its efforts on organizing three working groups steered by civil society partners, set to build on commitments made at the first summit and spark new commitments in the areas of Protecting Journalists’ Safety and Security (ACOS Alliance, IFEX), Advancing Freedom of Expression (IBAHRI, High-Level Panel of Legal Experts on Media Freedom) and Bolstering Independent and Diverse Media (Global Forum on Media Development).
