Human Rights First invites you to join us for a two-part event that will explore how countries can use targeted Magnitsky-style sanctions to support human rights and anti-corruption efforts that are critical to strengthening democracies, and the roles that civil society can play in advancing the use of these sanctions tools.

The event will begin with a panel discussion on Magnitsky Sanctions and Democracy – Perspectives on the Role of Targeted Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Sanctions in Protecting Democracy, featuring civil society advocates from Corruption Watch, Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), Freedom House, and Robert F. Kennedy Human Rights. Following the discussion, the event will conclude with a Magnitsky Sanctions Workshop – How Civil Society Can Recommend Perpetrators for Human Rights and Anti-Corruption Sanctions in the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, featuring the Pan American Development Foundation, Open Society European Policy Institute, and REDRESS.
