The Good Governance Forum (GG Forum) is an international high-level conference on good governance to be held on December 6, 2021. The Forum is organized by the Institute for Development of Freedom of Information (IDFI), with the support of the global philanthropic organization, Luminate. It is the third series of GG Forums held annually in Georgia since 2019 and gathers international experts, representatives of governments, civil society, the private sector, and international community to advance the good governance reform agenda by raising awareness, exchanging best practices, and fostering debate

The 2021 GG Forum, entitled – Sustainable Governance of Natural Resources – the Role of Transparency, Lessons Learnt and Future Plans – aims to contribute to good governance reform by exchanging best practices and fostering debate on sustainable governance of natural resources, beneficial ownership (BO), Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) and Publish What You Pay (PWYP) Network.

The event intends to do this by engaging local and international experts and all relevant stakeholders from various sectors and countries around several key-related issues: transparency principles in the governance of national resources, beneficial ownership transparency, the role of different stakeholders and coalitions in advancing good governance principles in extractive industries, and Georgia’s prospects for endorsing BO and EITI principles and strengthening women’s voice.
