Institute of Gender Programs invites you to join us for the panel, devoted to human rights and gender equality during war and armed conflict. We will discuss methods of observance of civil rights in most complicated and dangerous conditions.
Also we will discuss veterans involved in the peace building process in Ukraine in the time of Russian aggression.
High results, which veterans and volunteers show in developing and defending human rights, confirm the need to increase their influence in the democracy building process. Despite the challenges they are facing.
Also we would like to focus on the achievements during the advocacy campaigns (Invisible Battalion, Women Veteran movement) and grassroots initiatives in security and defense sectors, due to discuss democratic changes and how they encourage spreading human rights respect over society.

Presenters

  • Andriana Arekhta – veteran and leader of Women’s Veteran Movement, took part in the ‘Invisible Battalion’ advocacy campaign, represented Ukrainian veterans at the UN and NATO headquarters at the Ukraine Reform Conference in Toronto, from 2020 the UN National consultant on Gender Equality under the Ministry of Veterans Affairs.
  • Yuliia Mykytenko – veteran, former officer of Ukrainian armed forces, member of Institute of gender programs and Women Veteran Movement, commander of the first female cadet troop in military lyceum.
  • Maryna Lazarenko – executive director of Institute of gender programs, project coordinator of “Invisible Battalion”.
  • Nataliia Kalmykova – GenAd to LandCom AFU, ex COO of Come back alive Charitable Foundation.
